Brown, Leather Belt: Lauren by Ralph Lauren found at Goodwill

This look transported me back to the 70's immediately. The top and pants were scored at a beautiful boutique in Memphis, TN called "Fox + Cat Vintage." Thanks to their constant $10 rack sidewalk sales and markdowns, I've spent a small fortune, but it has been worth every penny! Complete with my afro, I felt like I channeled my inner Pam Grier with this look. You've seen the shoes before. These babies polish off the look without fuss.

I was never into corduroy growing up, so I was really caught off guard when my friend suggested that I try this look. After a bit of protest, I went to the dressing room and saw the vision. Needless to say, "I can dig it."

As I grow older, I find more comfort in who and what I am. I'm less concerned about the things that consumed my energy in my early twenties and feel more confident in making major decisions. I've said all of this to say, LIVE BOLDLY & BEE GOOD. Standing out means not taking a backseat in your own life. You have a responsibility to use your gifts to positively impact the world around you. So while you're at it, do it with style!

Apart, these pieces are #basic and sort of bland, but together they don't disappoint. The blazer and shoes brighten up the dark, brown skirt with much needed contrast and balance.

This leather skirt works well with the denim top. I felt like I was an extra in a modern-day, urban, Western film. The shoes and blazer elevate the outfit and give it a bit of sophistication.

Thankful for sunny days. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. If you reading this (indicating that you're alive and breathing), you've got plenty to be thankful for.

"You Red My Mind"

This top is so dramatic, fuzzy, and soft. This skirt is like a warm blanket. I took a risk pairing them together and I think it paid off.

I kept it light on the accessories and let the threads do all of the talking. With just a set of silver bangles and a bracelet of pearls and chain links, this look is complete.

I found these shoes at Macy's years and years ago (ON SALE!). I was drawn to the netting with a knitted pattern, the pointed, leather toe, and the straps around the ankle (so much more security and stability when walking).

This comfy sweater and paisley print dress seem to mirror the colors of the season, especially the fallen leaves. It's great for any setting, work or just a leisurely day of activities.

These dark brown, leather pumps are ideal for this time of year. The thick heels and platform add a lot more comfort than you'd probably guess.

This tan trench and burnt orange scarf are at the ready as the temperature fluctuates and drops. Both balance the warmer and cooler colors within the dress.

"Falling in Love with Autumn"

This yells, "Hello Autumn!" for me with the mixed plaid and stripes. I'm so excited the season has set in and that my boots can come out to play.

The "blazer" is a vintage dress I purchased from... You guessed it! *Goodwill* It does a great job of keeping this look classic and dolled up.

I wore this outfit home this past weekend for my sister's Engagement Dinner, a cousin's Birthday Party, and to another cousin's party. It was fun painting my Hometown of Memphis in red.

The chill is setting in so this blended wool letterman and suede booties combo is so timely. Paired with skinny jeans and a turtleneck, these threads keep me well insulated.

I love the look of maroon and grey. These were my high school colors, so I'm partial to it and gravitate toward this collab.

The accessories are all bargain items. I found the booties slightly worn at a thrift store. The purse, a genuine item, was $40 at a consignment shop. I'm not big on labels, however I am always proud to share my ability to pay little or nothing for overpriced "things." The earrings were once gold, but have rubbed into a nickel/alloy look. The bracelet and rings are just fun and sparkly against the moody colors in this outfit.

This vintage pink and black sweater is lightweight, perfect for the shift from warm, sunny days of Summer to the crisp, chilly days of Autumn.

The simple stripes play nicely with the houndstooth pattern in the tapered pants.

I had to give the accessories a little, solo shine. I love mixing metals, patterns and textiles. The pearl beading on the suede shoes help to doll it all up a bit. The gold and turquoise bracelet sings to a similar tune as the top. The earrings are simple, but they just #werk
