Earrings galore
Supplies:
Embroidery Hoop (found at craft stores)
Old T-shirt
Scissors
Earrings Galore
Remove the sleeves from the shirt and cut along the sides until you are left with a smock. Place the desired side for display on top of the hoop without the metal fastener; smooth out wrinkles. Place the other hoop on top, tighten the fastener little by little while stretching the tee. When the hoop is completely fastened and the tee is stretched evenly, take scissors and trim excess material & done!

Supplies needed:
Cardboard + Scissors + Hot glue gun + Compass ruler + Hole punch + Yarn or string (at least 4 feet) + Construction paper + Large utensil + Ruler or measuring tape + Multiple decks of playing cards
Measure across your collarbone to see how big you'd like the "ruff of cards" to span. I went with an 8" diameter. Use the compass to draw an 8" semicircle on the box lid. Draw another, 2" larger than the first above (tip: mark the center of the 1st circle to guide the 2nd). Cut the rainbow shape out & hot glue the cards in your pattern of choice. Punch two holes on either side of the ruff for a yarn holster.
The wand is 2 hearts cut from construction paper and all of the queens hot glued above.
Shabby Chic necklace display
I broken the handle off of an old rake, used a bbq grill cleaner to remove dirt/rust, and WAHLAH: A nice display for my necklaces and bracelets. The bangles are situated perfectly. This was a ~$12 rake I found at an antique shop and upcycled into a beautiful jewelry DIY, giving this item a second, more charming life.
Check out our IGTV channel @thoughtfuldozen for all of the details on how I completed this fun, super quick project.

Hol' UP Costume #Lemonade #Beyonceonabudget
Supplies:
Canary Yellow Dress
Espadrilles
"Fresh Squeezed" Lemonade Cup
Nerf Bat
Gold Bangles & Hoop Earrings
Sasha Fierce-ness
I was not about to break the bank for Halloween, so I raided my closet and was immediately inspired to pair these items. The only recent purchase was the Nerf bat, which I found in the toy section of Target. The cup was purchased at this year's State Fair, complete with a free refill ticket for long walk through the fair. This wasn't a spot on match, but it was close enough to pull off the look. I enjoyed playing the video all day to explain my costume.
go for gold
Supplies:
Canvas
Metallic gold, acrylic paint
Disposable plate/cup
Sticker letters
Modge Podge
Paintbrush
Copy paper
Scissors
Black permanent marker
Towel or sheet (one you don't mind ruining)
CANVAS #1:
Paint the canvas gold in an even, thin layer. Let air dry for 5 or so minutes (doesn't take long if you kept the layer thin). Using the open bottle across the top of the canvas, allow the paint to drip for a wet, liquid look. Allow this to dry overnight. Place your message using stickers on the canvas, then cover in a thin layer of Modge Podge. Allow to dry for 10 minutes or so.
CANVAS #2:
Paint the canvas gold in an even, thin layer. Let air dry for 5 or so minutes. Trace an image onto copy paper, cut out the shape, position the paper on to the canvas using a few pieces of tape, then fill out the shape using a permanent marker. Remove the paper and avoid smearing by allowing it to sit for a few minutes. Place your message using stickers on the canvas, then cover in a thin layer of Modge Podge. Allow to dry for 10 minutes or so.
